The Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (the Guidelines) provide guidance to water regulators and suppliers on monitoring and managing drinking water quality.The Guidelines are available for download below, or in a digital format.

The Water Quality Advisory Committee provides expert advice on drinking water quality and public health.
The NHMRC Council is established under the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992 (NHMRC Act) to advise the CEO and perform functions conferred on it. Council members are appointed under section 41 (1) of the NHMRC Act for a triennium (3 years).

The guidelines aim to help individuals make informed decisions about drinking alcohol. The guidelines are also intended to form the evidence base for policy making and educational materials.
