Forecast opportunity: Targeted Call for Research on climate-related health impacts and effective interventions to improve health outcomes 2024

NHMRC is considering opening a grant opportunity in mid-2024 that invites research proposals on climate-related health impacts and effective interventions to improve health outcomes that identify key areas of vulnerability and effective interventions to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequities in Australia.

The proposed opportunity aims to fund research into better understanding the current and future impacts of climate change on the health of Australians and on health system demand.

Project abstracts available for NHMRC-European Research Council Implementing Arrangements call  

Project abstracts are now available here for the European Research Council (ERC) Implementing Arrangements call for Expression of Interest 2023. NHMRC-funded researchers can apply to work with European research teams for up to a year during their grant period.

Direct Research Cost Guidelines update and 2025 PSP and Salary Support rates

To support researchers and Research Administration Officers (RAOs) with development of grant budgets and allocation of project expenses, we have updated the NHMRC Direct Research Cost (DRC) Guidelines.

The 2023 version of the DRC Guidelines contains new sections and additional information including:

• Salary on-costs
• Data Processing
• Consumer and Community Engagement
• Clinical Trials and Cohort Studies
• Open Access

The 2023 update of the DRC Guidelines replaces all previous versions and is now available alongside the updated Personnel Support Package (PSP) and Salary support rates for funding commencing 2025 on the new NHMRC and MRFF funding webpages which can be accessed via the Manage your funding page of NHMRC’s website.

 

Public Consultation on Ethical Guidelines for Cell, Tissue and Organ Donation and Transplantation in Australia

Public consultation on Ethical guidelines for cell, tissue and organ donation and transplantation in Australia opened on Monday, 15 January 2024. The consultation will run until Friday 15 March 2024 17:00 AEDT.

The Ethical guidelines for cell, tissue and organ donation and transplantation in Australia have been developed by NHMRC and the Organ and Tissue Authority and consolidate both existing NHMRC guidelines and new material.
