This policy clarifies the role and responsibilities of NHMRC Administering Institutions about notifying NHMRC of research integrity matters and describes how NHMRC responds to such matters.
The 2016 NHMRC policy on misconduct related to NHMRC funding (2016 Misconduct Policy) specifies when NHMRC Administering Institutions must notify NHMRC about research integrity matters received by the institution before 1 July 2019, and describes the actions NHMRC may take in response to such matters. The 2016 Misconduct Policy also applies to research integrity matters where a preliminary assessments or investigation was underway before 1 July 2019.
On 1 July 2019, the revised NHMRC Research Integrity and Misconduct Policy (Integrity Policy) takes effect. The new policy applies to complaints received by institutions on or after 1 July 2019.
