On 31 March 2026, NHMRC came together in Canberra to celebrate the Research Excellence Awards, recognising the exceptional people and ideas driving Australian health and medical research. The night was a true highlight, with researchers and leaders gathered to honour outstanding achievement, launch our 10 of the Best – 17th edition publication, and present the 2026 Commonwealth Health Minister’s Award. With some of the brightest minds in the room, from discoveries to world changing research, the evening showcased the depth, diversity and strength of Australia’s research community.
