The seventeenth meeting of the National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) Dietary Guidelines Expert Committee (Expert Committee) was held in August 2025 by videoconference.

Evidence to inform the Australian Dietary Guidelines

The Expert Committee considered the evidence map for the scoping review on dietary patterns and incident anxiety and depression in all ages (including pre/post-natal depression). Members discussed converting part of the scoping review to a systematic review and began refining the population, outcome, and exposure of interest.

Members discussed the proposed process for developing Evidence–to–Decision frameworks, which will inform guideline recommendation development.
