Updates to the Australian Immunisation Handbook 10th Edition

The CEO of NHMRC has approved minor and major amendments to the Australian Immunisation Handbook 10th Edition under section 14A of the National Health and Medical Research Act 1992.

The Australian Immunisation Handbook provides clinical information for Australian immunisation providers on the safest and most effective use of vaccines, new vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases in Australia. The major amendment relates to updated recommendations for human papillomavirus vaccination.

The minor amendments relate to the influenza chapter and include text clarifications, updates, corrections and typographical changes. The specific details of these amendments are provided on the Immunise Australia website; as these amendments are of minor significance, NHMRC is dispensing with the requirements for consultation under section 14B of the Act.

The revised Australian Immunisation Handbook 10th Edition is available on the Immunise Australia website.
