Public call for research priorities in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health 

NHMRC has opened a public call for research priorities in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

All interested individuals and organisations are invited to lodge a written submission using the template provided. The closing date for submissions is Sunday 4 September 2016 (11.59pm AEST).

Webinar - Structural Review of NHMRC’s Grant Program

The NHMRC is hosting a webinar on Tuesday 9 August 2016 at 3pm (AEST). Places are limited and priority will be given to those located outside a city where a public forum was held. To register, please provide the following details:

International Engagement Strategy 2016-2019

A new NHMRC International Engagement Strategy 2016-2019 has been finalised. It outlines the NHMRC’s approach to working with our international partners over the next three years.

Review of National Certification Scheme - Consultation open

NHMRC has launched an online survey to determine if the National Certification Scheme has been effective in recognising and improving quality of institutional review processes. 

Feasibility of a Clinical Trials App - Consultation open

NHMRC is conducting a feasibility study to identify the need for a new App in addition to the Australian Clinical Trials website and other existing clinical trial apps.

Update on Project Grants GRPs

  • One week of GRP meetings have been completed. Six panels met from 1-5 August 2016 to discuss approximately 430 applications.
  • Week 2 of GRPs commences on Monday 8 August 2016.

Thanks to Assigners Academy

The 2016 Assigners Academy has now completed their duties for the 2016 Project Grant round. NHMRC would like to  thank all members who have provided assistance this year. 

Update on Project Grants outcomes

NFFC outcomes are expected to be provided to applicants in September, as first advised in the 29 June Tracker. Outcomes of successful and unsuccessful applications that have been discussed at the Canberra GRP meetings will be advised in October following Ministerial approval.

International Engagement Strategy 2016-2019

A new NHMRC International Engagement Strategy 2016-2019 has been finalised. It outlines the NHMRC’s approach to working with our international partners over the next three years.

Register now for the 5th annual NHMRC Symposium on Research Translation

The theme for this year’s symposium is "Embedding research into health care: building a culture of quality". The symposium will be held in Melbourne on 23 November 2016.
