On 13 February 2014, NHMRC hosted a webcast presentation on the new initiatives in the replacement, reduction and refinement of animal use (the 3Rs) in biomedical research.
The webcast was presented by Professor Thomas Hartung (Professor of Toxicology, Pharmacology, Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, and Director of the Centre for Alternatives to Animal Testing, at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA).
While the intended audience for the podcast is biomedical researchers, it is of interest to any person involved with the care and use of animals for scientific purposes including institutional officials, researchers in all fields, teachers, members of animal ethics committees, veterinarians, animal welfare organisations, Commonwealth, state and territory governments and the general community.
