The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) is providing grants of financial assistance to support health and medical research and innovation, with the objective of improving the health and wellbeing of Australians.
The Australian Government announced the first round of investments from the MRFF in the 2017 Budget.
NHMRC is working with the Department of Health to implement a number of disbursement from the MRFF. This assistance will draw on NHMRC’s high quality application and assessment processes and the expertise available to NHMRC through the health and medical research sector.

This competitive grant opportunity will provide support for clinical trials that address low survival cancers and diseases. Applications to this grant opportunity must propose a single clinical trial that aims to improve survival rates for Australians with a low survival cancer or other disease.

Applicants are advised to read the Grant Guidelines thoroughly and liaise with the Administering Institution that will submit the application to identify any specific requirements that the Institution might have.

All applicants are required to commence their application and provide the specified minimum data in RGMS by Wednesday 4 April 2018 to allow the NHMRC to start sourcing reviewers with appropriate expertise. Applications initiated after this date will not be accepted.
A complete application to the LSCD grant opportunity must consist of the following:

- Completion of Parts A and B of the application form
- Grant Proposal PDF (uploaded); and
- Declaration of Interests PDF (uploaded).
