The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) – Emerging Priorities and Consumer Driven Research – 2020 Silicosis Research Grant Opportunity will support the investigation of evidence-based prevention and treatment options for individuals at risk of, or suffering from, accelerated silicosis caused by engineered stone.
The intended outcome of the research funded by this grant opportunity is to improve our understanding of pathology, prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment of accelerated silicosis caused by engineered stone and to inform policy and regulatory approaches to managing existing and emerging risks in dust diseases.
This grant opportunity is being administered by NHMRC on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health.
Recognising the huge knowledge gap regarding the current rise of accelerated silicosis caused by engineered stone affecting Australia, NHMRC is contributing up to $1 million to co-fund meritorious applications submitted to this grant opportunity.
Further information on the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) is available from the Department of Health’s MRFF website.
