The symposium will reflect on how we might optimise the use of health and medical research data, to inform health care policy and practice. The social, ethical and legal issues in the context of health data will also be a focus.

The closing session at the Symposium will be a panel discussion, facilitated by Professor Fred Watson, Australia’s first Astronomer-at-Large, and will feature panel members, Professor Louisa Jorm, Ms Lauren Solomon and Dr Phillip Gould. The topic will be ‘Health and medical research data: who owns it, who is doing what with it, do you know about it and does it matter?’

This session commences at 3.30pm (AEDT) on Wednesday 20 November 2019 and will be livestreamed here.
