Opening of call – TCR: Improving physical health of people with a mental illness 2022
The NHMRC Targeted Call for Research (TCR): Improving physical health of people with a mental illness 2022 is opening for applications in Sapphire on 30 November 2022.
Applications close on 1 March 2023 17:00 (AEDT), with minimum data due on 15 February 2023 17:00 (AEDT).
This TCR will fund research that develops strategies and interventions to improve the physical health of people with a persistent or severe mental illness. The intended objectives are to:

- develop models of care that are person-centered, holistic and multidisciplinary and integrated with mental health services
- identify what support services people with a severe mental illness and their health practitioners require to sustain participation in physical health interventions.
Further details, including the grant guidelines, will be available on GrantConnect and NHMRC’s website when the call opens on 30 November 2022.
Linking Publications to Grants in Sapphire
NHMRC is launching a new feature in Sapphire to simplify and streamline the grant application process.
This new feature allows users to link their Sapphire Profile publications to a single publication record. The publication record can be linked to multiple authors. This strengthens NHMRC’s ability to detect Conflicts of Interest and measure research outputs resulting from NHMRC funding.
In preparation for this change, we strongly encourage all users to review and update their profile by updating their research classifications and linking research outputs (publications, patents etc.) to their grants. This can be done within the profile by filling out the ‘Relevant Grants’ field.
We are expecting that researchers and RAOs will have access to this new feature from January 2023 and a range of resources will be available to assist in navigating and updating profiles on the Sapphire Help webpage.
Please contact the Research Help Centre for further information or assistance if required.
