Professor Anne-Louise Ponsonby has dedicated her life to understanding how the environment can influence the risk of developing a range of disorders at the population level. Her research includes understanding how environmental chemicals during pregnancy impact on neurodevelopmental outcomes in children, how different doses of Vitamin D impact the progression of Multiple Sclerosis, and how the types and timing of food introduction in infants can impact the prevalence of food allergies in children.
As a medical student it became clear to Anne-Louise that the best way to improve population health was to be involved in research and to be engaged with the community.
She shared her research with us.
