Investigator Grants 2020 Update

Minimum data for the Investigator Grants 2020 round was due 31 October 2019, full applications close 17:00 AEDT Wednesday 27 November 2019.

At the close of Minimum Data a total of 2,067 Investigator Grant applications have been created.  Compliance checks are currently underway and the final number of applications progressing to round close will be published shortly.

In addition to the Investigator Grants 2020 Grant Guidelines, the Investigator Grants 2020 Peer Review Guidelines are now available from the NHMRC website.

 

Investigator Grants: MRFF Priority Round

Minimum data for MRFF Investigator Grants was due 31 October 2019, full applications close 17:00 AEDT Wednesday 27 November 2019.

2019 Ideas Grants Funding Round Outcomes

Funding recommendations are going through the approvals process. NHMRC anticipates releasing the funding outcomes by the end of November 2019.

 

NHMRC Targeted Call for Research – Now Open

Targeted Call for Research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is now open for applications.

Cochrane Round 8 Funding Program

NHMRC will continue to support Cochrane activities in Australia through the Cochrane Round 8 Funding Program. The grant opportunity recently opened on GrantConnect with Grant Opportunity No. GO3093 and will remain open until 5pm (AEDT) on Monday 16 December 2019. Cochrane Australia and Australian based Cochrane Review Groups are able to apply for funding for the period 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2023.

 

Survey of research culture in NHMRC-funded institutions

This survey seeks to identify drivers, enablers and barriers to excellence in research quality. Views are being sought from researchers, research students, institutional representatives and ethics committee members at NHMRC-funded institutions. The survey results will be used to inform other activities being undertaken under NHMRC’s Research Quality Strategy.

22 November 2019.

 

Public consultation on mitochondrial donation

NHMRC’s public consultation on mitochondrial donation is underway, with four weeks to go!

NHMRC wants the views of the Australian community on the social and ethical issues raised by mitochondrial donation. Mitochondrial donation is a new assisted reproductive technology to help people avoid transmitting disease to their biological children.

8th Annual NHMRC Symposium on Research Translation – still time to register
