Synergy Grants 2020 update 

The Synergy Grant scheme for funding commencing in 2021 is scheduled to open in NHMRC’s Granting System 26 February 2020. Minimum data is due 25 March 2020 and applications close 22 April 2020.

Once the scheme is open, further details will become available on GrantConnect and NHMRC's website.

Investigator Grants 2020 update 

The Investigator Grants 2020 round closed for applications on Thursday 28 November 2019 with 1,780 applications submitted and progressing to peer review.

The conflict of interest process is complete and assessments are now underway.

Applications have been allocated to five person panels of approximately 25-35 applications.

These panels have been formed to ensure maximum suitability and minimal to no conflicts of interest for all applications while also adhering to NHMRC’s GRP membership principles (state, gender, institution etc.).

Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD): Cancer Prevention Funding Call 2019 

Applicants are reminded that Stage 1 full applications are required to be submitted through the GACD Common Submission Portal by 30 April 2020. You will find the critical documentation you need to apply on GrantConnect. Refer to the GACD website for further information and access to the portal.

Draft Australian Guidelines for the treatment of Acute Stress Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 

Phoenix Australia (the developer) has released the draft Australian Guidelines for the treatment of Stress Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for public consultation until 23 March 2020.

The developer will be seeking NHMRC approval of the guideline under section 14A of the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992.

Update on Ideas Grant Review Panel membership

NHMRC thanks all those who have accepted a preliminary invitation to participate as an Ideas Grant Review Panel member in 2020. NHMRC will review its membership requirements following the minimum data due date on 8 April 2020 and confirm panel appointments shortly after. Please advise NHMRC as soon as possible of any changes to your availability for peer review.

Open MRFF grant opportunities

The following MRFF grant opportunities are currently open for applications.

  • 2020 Traumatic Brain Injury grant opportunity

The application due date for these grant opportunities is 4 March 2020, with Minimum data due 26 February 2020.
