Clinical Trials and Cohort Studies Grants 2019 update
Application scoring is now complete. Not For Further Consideration (NFFC) lists have been generated and provided to panel members. Each panel member has the opportunity to rescue one application from the preliminary NFFC list if they believe it warrants discussion by the GRP.
Panels will meet face-to-face in Canberra from 26 August to 18 September 2019.
NHMRC sincerely thanks all panel members for their continuing support and involvement in the CTCS grant review process.
Ideas Grants 2019 update
Week 1 GRP meetings commence today 12th August 2019.
Week 2 GRP meetings commence 19th August 2019.
Week 3 GRP meetings commence 26th August 2019.
Assessments for week 4-6 GRPs were due in RGMS last Friday, and panel members will be notified about Not For Further Consideration lists this week. Panel members may each rescue up to one application if they believe it warrants full discussion at the GRP meeting.
Synergy Grants 2019 update
Stage One of the Synergy Grants peer review process is complete with 20 applications progressing through to Stage Two: Applicants not progressing have been notified. Stage Two, which is the assessment of Track Record, relative to opportunity, has commenced, with assessments due 14 August 2019.
Track Records have been allocated to multidisciplinary-based panels with approximately 18-21 track records per panel. Each Track Record will be assessed by up to five reviewers.
The panels have been formed to maximise suitability and minimise conflicts of interest for all Track Records while also adhering to NHMRC’s Grant Review Panel Membership Principles (state, gender, institution etc.).

Open MRFF grant opportunities
The MRFF International Clinical Trial Collaborations (ICTC) Grant Opportunity will close on 15 August 2019. Clinician researchers are invited to express their interest in assisting with the assessment of ICTC applications as a member of the peer review panel.

NHMRC is providing up to $4 million of co-funding to support Australian researchers participating in the joint United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI)-NHMRC Built Environment and Prevention Research Scheme 2019 Grant Opportunity.
NHMRC has released new guidance on PFAS in recreational water
The Guidance on per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in recreational water is an addendum to the Guidelines for Managing Risks in Recreational Water (2008). This advice aims to ensure the public is safe when using recreational sites such as lakes, rivers and beaches.

Amended closing date for 2019 Partnership Projects Peer Review Cycle (PRC) 2
Due to a public holiday in the Brisbane area of Queensland (Royal Queensland Show Day) on 14 August 2019, the closing date for the 2019 Partnership Projects PRC2 has been extended. The new closing time and date is 5:00pm (AEST) Thursday 15 August 2019.
