The NHMRC Licensing Committee assesses application for licences and issues licences in accordance with the Research Involving Human Embryos Act (RIHE Act). Before granting a licence, the NHMRC Licensing Committee must be satisfied of, or have regard to, the criteria required by section 21 of the RIHE Act.
