Synopsis of publication:

The health status of populations and individuals is influenced by the economic, social and physical environment in which they live, work and play.

In light of this, a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Working Party has assessed and documented the potential of sports, arts and racing settings to promote health. The report of the Working Party provides a rationale for promoting health through sport, arts and racing settings and assesses the potential of these settings to create health-promoting environments.
