National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans (1999)
The 2007 revised National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research was tabled in parliament on the 28th of March 2007 and replaces the 1999 National Statement.

Synopsis of publication:
This Statement entitled the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans ('the Statement') consists of a series of Guidelines made in accordance with the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992 ('the Act').
The Statement developed replaces the guidelines entitled the NHMRC Statement on Human Experimentation and Supplementary Notes in accordance with section 90 of the Act, with the exception of Supplementary Notes 5 and 7.

» Supplementary note 5 was in force from the date of issue in October 1983 until 26 March 2007, when the revised National Statement was released.
» Guidelines for ethical review of research proposals for human somatic cell gene therapy and related therapies - 1999 has replaced Supplementary Note 7.
