Synopsis of publication:

The Guidelines for the prevention, early detection and management of colorectal cancer were developed by the Clinical Oncological Society of Australia (COSA) and the Australian Cancer Network (ACN). The guidelines follow the methodology for developing guidelines recommended in another NHMRC publication, Guidelines for the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical practice guidelines; they are evidence-based and were developed by a multi-disciplinary process involving all stakeholders, including consumers.

These guidelines define the most efficient and effective approaches to colorectal cancer prevention and treatment in the Australian context. They have been developed following careful assessment of all the available evidence and provide information upon which decisions can be made by clinicians.
