Synopsis of publication:

This publication summarises the evidence currently available to assist health professionals in the management of acute pain. The field of acute pain medicine is a rapidly changing one: this is the third edition of this guideline.

The aim of the document is, as with the first two editions, to combine a review of the best available evidence for acute pain management with current clinical and expert practice, rather than to formulate specific clinical practice recommendations.

Note: Hard copies of the publication can be ordered through the Faculty of Pain Medicine.
