Recommendations for the Donation of Cadaveric
Organs and Tissues for Transplantation

In November 1991, the National Health and Medical Research Council endorsed the establishment of a working party with the following terms of reference: to revise guidelines on the code of practice for the donation of cadaveric organs and tissues.

The draft document was distributed for two stages of public consultation (December 1993 and October 1994). Where possible, the document was revised to take in suggestions offered in consultation submissions.

The Recommendations were endorsed by Council in June 1996.
