Hear from the experts

The Emergency Care CoP model brings together aspects of knowledge translation, evidence implementation and quality improvement to promote the uptake of evidence in areas of clinical priority. The Emergency Care CoP is a means for NHMRC-NICS to communicate with and influence Australian emergency care clinicians, and as a part of this strategy runs monthly teleconferences.

Usually held on the last Wednesday of the month, the teleconferences feature a clinical expert who has had recent experience in implementing initiatives to close evidence practice gaps.  Teleconference notes are posted on the Emergency Care CoP Blog site (search ‘teleconference’) where the main points that were discussed are highlighted.

Recent teleconferences have included the following topics:

  • trauma pain management
  • intranasal fentanyl in paediatric pain management
  • head injury clinical guidelines and clinical management
  • aggression management with patients with a mental illness

Keep an eye on the Latest Community News section on the Emergency Care CoP web page for future teleconference details.

Calls are toll free.
