The National Health and Medical Research Council Stop the Clot guide is a practical tool to help hospitals to integrate venous thromboembolism (VTE) recommendations into routine hospital care. It has been designed for use by risk managers and clinicians in a variety of hospital settings.
The guide draws on what is currently known about effective ways of implementing guidelines and lessons learnt from teams participating in the NICS VTE prevention program.
This is the third edition of the guide and replaces the first and second editions, published in May 2007 and October 2008 respectively.
