The NHMRC Acute Pain Management Manual is a practical resource designed to support emergency clinicians to identify evidence-based quality pain management options. This resource has been endorsed by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, the College of Emergency Nurses Australasia and the Australian College of Emergency Nursing.

Emergency care evidence in practice series - Pain medication for acute abdominal pain

These 2008 emergency care evidence in practice series of brochures were developed as part of the NICS emergency care community of practice. The brochures aim to highlight areas where evidence exists to inform best practice and potential opportunities to improve the quality of care.

Institutional approaches to pain assessment & management

This 2003 systematic review was commissioned prior to the commencement of the NICS pain management project. It seeks to identify strategies that have been successful in introducing and sustaining institutional strategies to pain assessment and management.
