The Prevalence of chemoprophylaxis in surgical and medical cases at high risk of venous thromboembolism

This 2005 review was commissioned by NICS and undertaken by the School of Population Health, University of Western Australia.

The review was undertaken as part of the NICS venous thromboembolism prevention program and was commissioned to inform the process of development of an intervention likely to be effective in changing clinical behaviour to be more in line with clinical practice guidelines’recommendations.

The review investigates the prevalence of venous thromboembolism chemoprophylaxis in high risk patients in Western Australia.
