Mental Health-Emergency Care Interface Project 2004-2006
The Mental Health Emergency Care Interface Project was the first major initiative of the Emergency Care Community of Practice involving 41 teams across Australia. Mental health and emergency department clinicians worked together to improve the care of mental health presentations to emergency departments.
National emergency department collaborative final report
The emergency department collaborative (EDC) was one of NICS' initial projects. The EDC involved 47 hospitals from across Australia seeking to improve emergency care, with a national focus to reduce time to pain relief. This 2004 report describes the project and the project's outcomes.

The incidence and risk factors of venous thromboembolism in West Australian hospitals 1999 to 2001
This 2005 report was commissioned by NICS and undertaken by the School of Population Health, University of Western Australia. The review was undertaken as part of the NICS venous thromboembolism prevention program and was commissioned to inform the process of development of an intervention likely to be effective in changing clinical behaviour to be more in line with clinical practice guidelines’recommendations.
