Call for nominations to host the Global Alliance for Chronic Disease (GACD) Secretariat

The GACD is a new global health initiative that includes research funding agencies from Australia, Canada, China, United Kingdom and the United States of America. The purpose of the GACD is to coordinate research activities addressing the prevention and treatment of chronic disease on a global scale.

The GACD Board is currently calling world-wide for nominations from any public, academic or not-for-profit institution interested in hosting the GACD Secretariat. This institution will be responsible for providing the administrative and physical framework within which the GACD Secretariat will operate. The governance and programmatic oversight of the Secretariat will be by the GACD Board. It is envisioned that the Secretariat will consist of an Executive Director, assisted by one staff member.

Nominations should include how the institution aligns with GACD mission and principles, estimated operating costs and any relevant experience.

Nominations are to be submitted by COB Friday October 24, 2009.
