Australian scientists join forces with European colleagues to research auto-immune diseases

The Minister for Health and Ageing, Tony Abbott, today announced that two Australian researchers will join forces with a European Union research team with the aim of developing new treatments for auto–immune diseases such as diabetes and Addison’s disease.

Clinical Trial to Reveal Costs/Benefits of Glucosamine for Arthritis Sufferers

A nine-month clinical trial involving 340 people with osteoarthritis of the knee has been commissioned to study the effectiveness of glucosamine, the Minister for Ageing, Julie Bishop announced today.
