Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, to assist in improving access to and uptake of cardiac rehabilitation services in order to promote the return to optimal health and wellbeing.
Synopsis
The guide is based on available evidence but also on a wide-ranging process of consultation. We listened carefully to health professionals and consumers talking about why Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people do not attend cardiac rehabilitation programs and how services could be made more accessible. The guidance provided here cannot be specific, due to the diversity of the settings in which it will be used and the people that it aims to assist.
