The Guideline for Screening, Assessment and Treatment in Problem Gambling was developed by the Problem Gambling Research and Treatment Centre; a joint initiative of the Victorian Government, the University of Melbourne and Monash University.

This guideline is the first of its kind developed for the Australian clinical environment.

The guideline was developed in response to a need for problem gambling services, health practitioners and policy makers to have evidence-based guidance in the design and delivery of treatments for people with gambling problems. It includes a series of evidence-based recommendations concerning screening, assessment and treatment practices for individuals. The guideline scope does not address: prevention; a public health approach to problem and pathological gambling; or the effects on carers or family members.

Hard copies of the publication can be ordered from the Problem Gambling Research and Treatment Centre.
