DRAFT – Proposal to establish an Australian Research Integrity Committee

NHMRC, ARC and the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research have developed a proposal to establish an Australian Research Integrity Committee (ARIC).

PROPOSED ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ARIC

The proposed ARIC will investigate and advise on concerns that institutions have not followed Part B of the Australian Code of the Responsible Conduct of Research (2007) when investigating allegations of research misconduct.

Invitation to make a submission

You are invited to make a submission to the NHMRC about the draft proposal.

How to make your submission

Please make your submission in writing (preferably typed or word processed) or on audio tape and submit by mail to:

  • Chief Executive Officer
  • National Health and Medical Research Council
  • GPO Box 1421
  • CANBERRA ACT 2601

Please ensure that the author of the submission and organisation (if applicable) is clearly stated. If you would like your submission to be treated as confidential, please indicate this clearly (for example, by marking CONFIDENTIAL on each page of your written submission). Submissions may be subject to release under the Freedom of Information Act 1982.

Closing Date

The closing date for submissions is 14 December 2009, however NHRMC will accept submissions up to 14 January 2010.
