Invitation to Comment - Notice of Intent: Revision of the Core Food Groups (1994)
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is seeking comment and input on the draft Statement of Requirement, specification and the projected timeframe for the updating of the Core Food Groups (CFG) (1994).
The NHMRC, in collaboration with the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) and the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, is updating the CFG (1994) to be consistent with the Nutrient Reference Values for Australia and New Zealand (2006)(NRVs), taking into consideration current food supply and food consumption patterns.
As part of the development of a Request for Tender (RFT) the NHMRC is inviting input from any person or agency with an interest in the revised CFG, such as academics, academic institutions, State and Territory governments, nutrition/dietary organisations and potential tenderers.
The NHMRC proposes to release the final RFT for revision of the CFG (1994) in December 2007. Input received by the NHMRC as part of this consultation process will inform the development of the final RFT specifications. Please note that this consultation process forms no part of the RFT.
