Capacity Building Grants in Population Health Research
The program was established to in 2001 as a time limited initiative to develop capacity/ critical mass across the full range of population health research. The grants aim to strengthen and grow established teams with a record of undertaking significant and nationally and internationally competitive research, primarily by providing salary support and developing less experienced researchers.
The Capacity Building Grant in Population Health Research teams will contribute new knowledge at a leading international level in important areas of health and medical research and tackle problems for which longer term stable funding is essential.
From 2002 to 2006 five calls under this program resulted in the funding of 25 capacity building grants as follows:
