NHMRC Administering Institution
This section of the site contains a range of information about the requirement for institutions, that receive NHMRC funding, to be registered as an Administering Institution.
Revision of NHMRC’s Administering Institution policy
In October 2008, the CEO of NHMRC advised that NHMRC was revising its Administering Institution policy in line with the NHMRC strategic plan. This work is ongoing and it is anticipated that changes will be released for consultation in the coming months, with implementation of the policy to occur in 2010.
As a result of this ongoing revision, NHMRC will not be registering any more Administering Institutions or Accredited Independent Medical Research Institutes under the current policy at this time. Institutions that have not been registered as Administering Institutions and that wish to apply for NHMRC funding should continue current arrangements for managing grants through another NHMRC Administering institution.
Existing NHMRC Administering Institution status will continue until 31 December 2010.
If you have any further questions about future registration as an Administering Institution or accreditation as a medical research institute, please contact NHMRC, by phone on 02 6217 9050 or 1800 223 391 or by e mail at pa.info@nhmrc.gov.au.
