Participating in peer review

NHMRC invites researchers to register as potential NHMRC assessors, to be considered for membership of one of our peer review panels in 2009.

The effectiveness and sustainability of NHMRC peer review processes depends on researchers with excellent track records and wide-ranging expertise in Australian and international health and medical research fields.

How to apply

While many researchers have recently provided NHMRC with updated contact details, all health and medical researchers are asked to return the completed NHMRC Peer Review Participation Form.

Researchers are asked to complete the Peer Review Participation Form and submit it to NHMRC (using the button at the bottom of the form).

Technical difficulties

If you experience any technical difficulties using the form, please refer to the Peer Review Participation Form User Manual.

If you are not invited to participate

If you are not invited to participate in the review process in a particular year, this does not in any way imply that your expertise has been ignored or undervalued. As you can appreciate, selection of assessors and panel members is dependent on many factors including the nature of the applications received.

Peer nominations

We also invite you to nominate any other potential assessors, both in Australian and in overseas institutions by providing:

  1. The names of potential assessors to review applications in your field of research;
  2. The contact details of suggested assessors (name, institution and valid current email address);
  3. Three or four key words to describe their field of research

These should be forwarded to grantnet.help@nhmrc.gov.au.
