Project Grants

The Project Grants Scheme is the NHMRC’s main avenue of support for individuals and small teams of researchers undertaking biomedical, public health and health services research in Australian universities, medical schools, hospitals and other research institutions.

Introduction

The NHMRC has introduced a number of significant changes to the Research Grants scheme, including Project Grants.

Apply for Funding

Prior to submission of an application for project funding, applicants are to ensure they:

  • read all relevant reference material; and
  • liaise with their Administering Institution to obtain an Application ID, and identification of any specific requirements that the Institution may have.

Key dates

The key dates for the Project Grants 2008 funding round are as follows:

  • 7 December 2007 – Applications open
  • 14 March 2008 – Applications close

  6. Download the Informed Filler software and the Research Grant Application Form for a Project Grant and complete the application.

  7. Applications with more than 6 CIs are required to submit the “Additional Chief Investigator Details Form".

  8. RFCD, GAG Structure:

  9. The Chief Investigator form requires all Chief and Associate Investigators involved a Project Grant to sign the Chief Investigator and Associate Investigator Consent Form.

Applicants for NHMRC Project Grants in the area of Indigenous Health research are required to address the Health and Medical Research of Indigenous Australians criteria in their application.
