Summary of Changes to Australia Fellowship Round Three Policy Documentation
NHMRC has revised the Peer Review Timeline for Australia Fellowship Round Three for funding in 2009.
The following summary reflects the changes that have been made to the Australia Fellowships Peer Review Timeline that take effect from 1 May 2008:

The following changes to Australia Fellowship Round Three Funding Policy take effect from 11 December 2007:
Change 1 - Page 7, section 2.4
Previous version;
EOI will be checked by NHMRC Officers for completeness and eligibility purposes before proceeding to the initial review. The applicant is responsible for ensuring that their nominated referees submit the reports to NHMRC by the due date.

Previous version;
Information contained in applications is regarded as in-confidence, unless otherwise stated, and will be received and treated as in-confidence by the NHMRC. It is the responsibility of all NHMRC committee or panel members, and persons assisting these committees, not to disclose any personal confidential information to which they become privy as a result of exercising of their responsibilities to the NHMRC.

Applicants may contact the NHMRC seeking clarification on the outcome of their application for Project Grant funding, or to state an objection to that outcome. The objection must be lodged in writing through the Administering Institution’s Research Office and be received within 28 days of the date on the letter notifying the outcome of the application.

All EOI and applications submitted to NHMRC are treated in confidence and are not public documents. However, some of the information you provide may be extracted in order to assist in making recommendations to the Minister for Health and Ageing and for post award reporting. In addition, information from successful applications may be used by the NHMRC for statistical reporting and in publications about research funding including details such as; recipient details, period and amount of funding and broad outline of the research.
