In 2009, NHMRC undertook consultations to advise the design of the NHMRC Partnership Centres initiative. Written submissions were sought from researchers, policy and practice agencies, health workforce agencies, medical and health administrators, community and industry groups and members of the general public. Submissions were particularly sought from organisations that were interested in becoming involved in the proposed centres as researchers or as policy and practice partners.
Stakeholders were invited to comment on the Independent Advisory Panel (IAP) Report (link below) which suggested attributes and processes for the proposed NHMRC Partnership Centres.
Thirty three submissions were received. The consultation process strongly supported the suggestion that NHMRC determines the themes of the centres.
As this important, $70 million initiative develops, NHMRC will ensure that the research community is advised.
