Access RGMS
Current Status
Grant applications are now completed and submitted on-line. Applicants also complete an ‘RGMS Profile and CV’ – components of which automatically populate grant applications. In addition, endorsement and certification of each application is completed on-line by the Chief Investigator and Research Administration Officers.
NHMRC has a scheduled maintenance window from 6am to 9am every Tuesday morning. Access to RGMS is not possible during this time and we ask RGMS users to consider this in planning their access to RGMS.
Where system outages occur outside the scheduled window, NHMRC will provide advice via an RAO alert and notices on the RGMS Welcome page wherever possible.

RGMS Background and Overview
The Research Grants Management System is the NHMRC’s new grants administration, reporting and awarded grants system. RGMS replaces NHMRC’s previous Research Management Information System (RMIS) and various satellite systems.
RGMS allows users to:
- submit and manage grant applications online and
- maintain a Curriculum Vitae (CV)
RGMS also supports the assessment and peer review processes through dedicated reporting and workflow functions.
RGMS provides important functionality for the Office of the NHMRC. It improves access to information about the outputs and impact of Australian Government health and medical research funding and streamlines administrative process across all granting schemes.
RGMS is built using ‘Clarity’, a CA (formally known as Computer Associates) web-enabled project and portfolio management system being used by various Australian Government departments and agencies.
Feedback
NHMRC welcomes all constructive feedback on your experience using RGMS.
While a new formal feedback mechanism is being developed, please provide feedback via email to HELP@NHMRC.gov.au.
