Australian Research Training Fellowship (part-time)

The purpose of these Fellowships is to provide part-time training in biomedical, clinical and public health research, including the social and behavioural sciences.

General Information

While not restricted to, these Fellowships are largely intended for those persons returning to the work-force who are interested in pursuing health and medical research as a career.

The aim is to enable persons to undertake research on a part-time basis where they do not have other research, clinical or practitioner responsibilities. The Fellowships are tenable only in Australia.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent and show that they have an interest in, and an ability to pursue, a career in research. The emphasis is on research training and thus applications will normally be accepted from persons who have not more than 2 years postdoctoral research experience from the date that the doctoral thesis was passed.

This Fellowship is awarded on the basis of a part-time rate of 50%. The tenure of this Fellowship is a maximum of four years.

Applicants must be Australian citizens or be graduates from overseas with permanent Australian resident status, not under bond to any foreign government.
