Howard Florey Centenary Fellowship
Eligiblity
To be eligible to apply, candidates must at the time of application hold a doctorate in a health related field of research, be actively engaged in such research overseas, either full or part time, be Australian citizens, or be graduates from overseas with permanent Australian resident status, not under bond to any foreign government, and must not have been a recipient of an overseas Biomedical (CJ Martin), Clinical (Neil Hamilton Fairley) or Public Health (Sidney Sax) Fellowship. Applicants should provide a specific study plan within a clearly defined area of research, and have an agreement with Australian institution to carry out the study.
Applicants would usually have between two (2) to five (5) years postdoctoral experience. Potential applicants with less than 2 years postdoctoral experience at the time of application should apply for an Australian Biomedical (Peter Doherty), Australian Clinical Research or a Public Health Postdoctoral (Australian) Fellowship.
The Fellowships are full time and will be awarded for a period of two years. A Howard Florey Centenary Research Fellow must take up the Fellowship within 12 months of the Offer of award.
The Fellowships are tenable only in institutions approved by the NHMRC, such as teaching hospitals, universities and research institutes.
Recipients of a Howard Florey Centenary Research Fellowship will receive a Training Support Package (Level 2) of $70,750 per annum, the package incorporates superannuation and all salary on-costs. The Fellow will also receive $10000 per annum in Direct Research Costs.
