Expert Committees

In the 2006-09 triennium, NHMRC had three expert advisory committees: the Cellular Therapies Advisory Committee, the Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies Advisory Committee, and the Water Quality Advisory Committee.

The 2009-12 triennium

CTAC - Cellular Therapies Advisory Committee

CTAC was established in November 2007 to advise NHMRC on cellular therapies. CTAC provides advice through NHMRC to Human Research Ethics Committees (HRECs). 

Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies Advisory Committee (TSEAC)

TSEAC provides expert advice to Australian governments on variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD) and other transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs) in Australia.

Formerly the Special Expert Committee on Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (SECTSE).

(WQAC) - Water Quality Advisory Committee

NHMRC established the Water Quality Advisory Committee (WQAC) in April 2007 to provide expert advice on health issues relating to water quality.
