Consumer Consultative Group (CCG)

Functions

The role of the Consumer Consultative Group is to:

  1. Act as a forum for the mutual support of the consumer and community members of Council and Principal Committees, as Council and these committees develop advice for the CEO.
  2. Provide advice to the Council and CEO on consumer and community participation issues relating to the work of respective Principal Committees and NHMRC.
  3. To provide a framework to lead in the engagement of consumers in research and health advice.

Member of the Embryo Research Licensing Committee (LC) with expertise in consumer issues relating to assisted reproductive technology

Member of the Prevention and Community Health Committee (PCHC) with expertise in consumer advocacy

Mr John Stubbs

Member of the Australian Health Ethics Committee (AHEC) with understanding of health consumer issues

Ms Sharon Van der Laan

Member of the Human Genetics Advisory Committee (HGAC) with a background in, and knowledge of community representation, including health consumer advocacy and disability support groups

Ms Margaret Deane Member of Licencing Committee (LC) with expertise in consumer health issues relating to disability and disease
