Expert Committees

To date, NHMRC has four Expert Committees for the 2009-12 Triennium:

  • Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies Advisory Committee (TSEAC)
  • Water Quality Advisory Committee (WQAC)
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Advisory Committee (ATSIHAC)
  • Consumer Consultative Group - (CCG)

Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies Advisory Committee (TSEAC)

TSEAC provides expert advice to Australian governments on variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD) and other transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs) in Australia.

Formerly the Special Expert Committee on Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (SECTSE).

(WQAC) - Water Quality Advisory Committee

NHMRC established the Water Quality Advisory Committee (WQAC) in April 2007 to provide expert advice on health issues relating to water quality. 

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Advisory Committee (ATSIHAC)

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Advisory Committee (ATSIHAC) was established by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NHMRC on 15 September 2009 for the duration of the 2009 to 2012 triennium to 30 June 2012.

Consumer Consultative Group (CCG)

NHMRC established the Consumer Consultative Group (CCG) to provide advice to the Council and CEO on consumer and community participation issues relating to the work of respective Principal Committees and NHMRC. CCG’s other functions can be accessed by using the below link.
