Dr Clive Morris

Dr Clive Morris is NHMRC's Chief Knowledge and Development Officer (CKDO).
Dr Morris has been part of NHMRC’s senior management team since mid-2000, and during that time has held a number of senior roles, including leading the areas responsible for clinical practice and public health guidelines and advice, ethical guidelines for research involving humans, and implementing legislation on human cloning and related matters.
His previous Commonwealth appointments include heading the Molecular Biology Section at the Therapeutic Goods Administration, overseeing the assessment of new biological medicines and tests for safety and quality, and as a senior toxicologist with Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ).
Dr Morris obtained his Bachelor of Science (Hons 1) from the University of Queensland and completed his PhD at the same institution in 1987. He then undertook postdoctoral training at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London before returning to Australia in 1990 to work at the University of NSW.
In his spare time, he manages his children's soccer teams and enjoys mountain bike riding with his friends.
